Your hosts at Kilmaronock Manse are Maggi and Gordon Thomson. We will greet you personally and provide all of the service in the Bed and Breakfast. Having lived in the area for over 25 years, we can provide advice on places to eat, drink, walk, take part in outdoor activities and relax.
From Glasgow, via Erskine Bridge (A898), take A82 toward Balloch and Stirling’. Follow this road, passing Dumbarton to the roundabout with "Flying Geese". Turn right towards Stirling along the A811. This is known as the "Old Military Road". Follow this road, through Balloch, then Gartocharn. Approximately 2 miles further on, round a sharp right-hand bend, you'll see the Manse on your left, immediately before the Kilmaronock Church.
From Edinburgh or Stirling. Follow signs for A811, Erskine Bridge. After Drymen the road takes a right hand turn at a junction. Travel for 2 miles; the road goes down a dip and back up. On your left hand side is Badshalloch Farm. As you pass the small cottage on your right, Kilmaronock Manse is the driveway with white bollards 100 yards on your right.
Please inform Kilmaronock Manse B&B of your expected arrival time in advance.
Are pets allowed?
We do not accommodate pets at The Manse.
Is there a restaurant/pub within walking distance?
The nearest pub or restaurant is 3 miles away in the village of Drymen. Unfortunately it is along a busy road with no pavement. However there is a regular local bus service which runs until 10.30 pm. There is also a reliable taxi service.
Can you recommend somewhere for good food?
Yes The Clachan Inn, Drymen is superb. However in season it is very busy and we advise booking in advance which we will be happy to do for you.
